Can't install external Help file
« on: March 17, 2008, 10:52:39 pm »
I am running Code::Blocks version 8.02. According to the documentation (1.10.7 Including external help files), a help file can be installed by going to Settings->Environment->Help Files. However, there is no such tab. Any advice?

You don't have the help plugin installed then.

What is your OS?
if windows try reinstalling with a full install

Windows XP Professional. Have reinstalled codeblocks-8.02-setup.exe a couple of times, but no luck. The image help_plugin.png is there, but doesn't appear in the environment settings. The last page is the to-do list.

Maybe, for some strange reason, the plugin isn't loaded. Check by clicking on Plugins -> Manage plugins... Search 'Help plugin' and see if it's Enabled or not. If it is not, try to enable it.

Have done that and it doesn't appear as one of the plugins. However, installed the March 10 nightly build SVN 4943 and voila, it's there.
Can only presume that it was omitted from 8.02 for Windows. I'm happy now. Thanks for the help.
