crash at copy&paste on wsl
« on: October 11, 2026, 09:36:40 am »
Hi community,
I'm experiencing a reproducible and rather annoying crash on arch on wsl.
How to reproduce:
  • install all updates for windows and all updates on arch on wsl
  • install current codeblocks from repository (pacman -S codeblocks), that gives you 25.03-...
  • open a new document/text file
  • type some arbitrary text (like one or two lines of characters)
  • mark your text and hit ctrl+c several times -> crash

Hi, guys, thanks for the report, and also eranif's fix.

It looks like the fix is in new release wx 3.3.4 and 3.2.12. (wxWidgets 3.2.12 and 3.3.4 Released)
If some piece of memory should be reused, turn them to variables (or const variables).
If some piece of operations should be reused, turn them to functions.
If they happened together, then turn them to classes.

Interesting, I haven't seen this on native Linux. Did you manage to find a workaround in the meantime?
