C::B slow
« on: February 06, 2009, 08:06:26 pm »
Hi dudes!
This is my story:

Machine:
Intel Pentium D @ 3 GHz
896 MB of RAM
Windows XP SP2
Code::Blocks version 5432 (29 Jan 2009)

In October I installed C::B, and it worked perfectly. But since December, it takes around 45 seconds to start up the interface. I import a tiny project (4 .cpp and 2 .h XD) , and it takes 20 seconds. Scrolling up and down is also sloooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooowy. I have unchecked code completion and wxsmith* plugins.

I am desperate (like Eva Longoria), because I have checked Windows for any virus and malware, with no results.

Anyone would like to be my Tony Parker?

Checked for Hard dive problems?
My Code::Blocks was rather slow because of Hard drive issues. My whole computer was slow; but Code::Blocks seemed extra slow.

I upgraded my Hard drive firmware and Code::Blocks is much faster.

PS: My hard drive was one of the known Seagate model needing a firmware fix.
