newbie needs a clue - where to get it?

I'm fairly new to Linux and I'm looking for a good C++ IDE. I came along Code::Block, I like what I've seen.

But where do I download it? The website points to a forum post, the forum points to the Wiki, the Wiki points to the forum again...and I still haven't figured out where to get the package.

I'd strongly suggest updating the website to make it easier to find, e.g. a single, simple  page, with direct links. If only for newbies who just like to try it out.

(Apologies to those offended, my intent is to offer constructive advice.)

Depends on which Linux distribution you use.

Debian & Ubuntu Pakages are very regularly available in nearly every Nightly Thread by one of the users. (Ubuntu Gutsy has a slightly out of date codeblocks in it's repos, you can aptitude install it directly)

IMO is there also an fairly up-to-date SuSE pakage available. For the others you will quite likely have to compile Codeblocks.

The Code::Blocks built binary are here

But, I did not see any for Xubuntu.

Most likely look in the nightly threads for an User build or build from source.

Thanks stahta0, that's what I needed.

Installation went fine. Still seems to be missing the wxWidgets dependencies but I can figure that out.

I still suggest making it clear where to find these files. It would be a shame to lose potential Code::Blocks users just because the downloads are so hard to find.

I think that instead of writing "Linux : none", it should be written "Linux : look below in topic, these builds are contributed by third-parties"
