Hi.. I've just started using nightly builds (I've been working with old RC2) and I'm happy to see how great your work is going.

One thing I noticed and couldn't find anything in the foruns about it was that when you fold a comment and then delete the "/*" piece, it should (at least and don't see other way) unfold. But it don't then we can't access to that comments anymore except the first line. Other thing is when I move my mouse over codeblocks a bit, my cpu usage goes up to 93~100%, why is that?

One suggestion (more like a request), is it possible to allow dragging windows like the watches window, to the same tab place as projects, symbols... like it was in RC2. I found it easier to work that way.

Anyway thanks for Code::Blocks and keep up the good work.

Same goes for folded functions, if you delete the open bracket. One thing I noticed both in the folded comments and functions is that if you delete thee "{" or the "/*" and then select the blank line below and press backspace it will show the last line of the commented text/function.

Another thing is, GDB crashes everytimes I try to use the "watch *this" option.

Hi all!

It seems I cannot start Code::Blocks on Linux anymore. It worked before I rebooted. Now all I get is the splash screen, which doesn't go away even after 10 minutes..
I am using Ubuntu Linux Edgy.

You say that the former version doesn't work either after rebooting. Are you sure you didn't do any changes to your machine that came into effect only after you rebooted?

Problem with translation file.
It seems that with this 3369 build, codeblocks.mo file is no more recognized.
Until now, I had this file in my main codeblocks directory and my CodeBlocks interface was in french.
I tried to put it in share/... as described in the wiki, but no success.
It was OK with the build 3364, the last one I tried (and with many others before...).
My OS : Win2000, SP4.

Except the standard Ubuntu Update using Adept, I didn't do anything special with the machine.
Something must have changed after the reboot, but the question is: if something changed indeed, and Codeblocks doesn't like it, why isn't it displaying an error, a warning or something.. ?
With the tiny bit of knowledge that I have, from reading the strace log, I suspect Codeblocks is waiting for some kind of resource and it's not getting access to it..
Could somebody else take a look at the strace log?

no idea, but retry with your rev 3364, if it fails in there also, then it might be related to no longer admin rights. Well the fact it works on the other machine with admin rights seems to proof your assumption.

I *could* also be that you had copied the files as administrator and they are not accessible by a default user. This happened to me with another software in that past and was hard to find out. I hadn't the right to *read* (not only write!) a plugin DLL I had copied to this folder as admin due to the file permissions. The result was that the mother application suddenly crashed during initialisation... This will especially happen if you have turned off the file permission inheritance for some folders as I did... ;-) Could you (gd_on) verify that you can copy (maybe even move) the C::B files into another folder?

Text inside _() is translated. _() is a macro that expands to a wxWidgets function whic calls gettext. The latter reads a .mo file according to the language settings if it can (to find a replacement), and otherwise returns the original string.

There's no registry hacking involved, nor any file accesses outside locations which should be accessible by the application normally, nor any other evil stuff.

Martin probably got it right. Probably the files belong to Administrator and are not user-readable.

About translation usage :
1) I have this problem only with Windows 2000. I tried on XP on two differents accounts, one with administrator privileges, one as a standard user, without any problems.
2) I tried to modify the read/write access of the differents files (through an other Administrator account), set me as the proprietary of the files, gave me a full control... Menus were always in english under my user account. (but appear in french under the administrator account, but I can't use this account for my standard activity for security reasons in my company)
3) Then I tried to copy, move codeblock folder elsewhere. Copy was good, worked well, but menus always in english.
4) I uninstalled codeblocks, and reinstall it under my standard account. I use the intaller CodeBlocks_with_MinGW_Setup.exe provided by bigbug (http://forums.codeblocks.org/index.php?topic=3225.msg34340#msg34340). I added the .mo file in this new install. CodeBlocks works well but menus are still in English. That's certainly proves that this problem is not linked to a specific nightly distribution (I first though it was with that nightly). If I update with the last nightly (after erasing files to be sure that it's as a new install), menus are always in english. If I look in the advanced properties of each file, I'm the proprietary and have (normally) a full control on those files. Really strange  .
It really looks as if, I can have localized menus, only if I am an Administrator on Windows 2000. (as I told before, no problems with XP).

About the translation problem (sorry the other subject in this post!) :
I think I understand the problem now. It's not the .mo file which is a problem but the default.conf (where menus are kept obviously) and the other files located in my profile. When Codeblocks was first installed, I was an administrator. When I installed the .mo file, I was already a standard user. Obviously, I had only read rights on those files and codeblocks was then unable to reset them. But after setting me as a proprietary of those files (with the help of an administrator!!), deleting them and restarting codeblocks which recreated them, everything is good now.
