New release candidate coming up?

Hello!

Progress in nightly builts is huge since rc2 and i really think that rc2 should be replaced at main project's site with 1.0rc3, 1.0stable, 1.1rc1, 2.0a1 or something... Just to give people an idea of what's going on here with an official release!  But this, of course, is just my opinion - it's for the development team to decide but... is something coming up soon?

mandrav:
We have a few things to do first. Once they 're done, we 'll make the next official release.

Yiannis.

Game_Ender:
Please put a roadmap on the wiki.  I really like Ogre's and you must have one written somewhere, whether it be on paper or in your mind.  It will help keep the community on pace with development and allow others to possibly submit patches in needed areas.

One advantage of such a release even if you know it is premature is that it would reduce the traffic caused by people installing a nightly build on top of rc2 which seems to cause a number of problems

Blue-Tiger:
Hi there!
I think you all miss the biggest problem: ppl think Code::Blocks is dead. Just today in another forum I had to explain to others that CB isn't dead at all, but all they see is that RC1 came out, soon after RC2 came out and then... nothing for half a year. One reason for that is that
you can only download the nightly builds if you're registered in the forum. That's been bugging me for a while now: as unregistered visitor you cannot see the "developer forums", so you don't have any chance to see the progress this project makes. At least the "nightly builds" forum should definitely be free for unregs, too.
That said I also think it's quite a strange version numbering you have. Usually "Release Candidate" implicates that the version is almost as good as "the real thing". I remember e.g. Firefox 1.5 RC2 or GCC 4.1 RC2 even became the "official" Firefox 1.5/GCC 4.1 without any change. Whereas here after RC2 there even is a Code-Completition overhault and other big changes. But well, I know this is not the place to discuss such things ;)
