Making your coding less productive :)

Nah, it'sn't off-topic :D

The idea is to make an IRC plugin for Code::Blocks, so you can code and be in your favorite IRC channel at the same time.

I just remember the old days when I used the Allegro library and hung in the #allegro channel. It wasn't really productive sometimes, but when I needed help I had the ppl in there handy, to help me :)

Code::Blocks got an un-official channel in IRC and the few times I've been there it's really lonely. I dunno how helpful it could really be, but it's just an idea.

What do you think? :P

Using gaim with MSN and AOL, and never lonely 8)

There is probably no good reason against an IRC plugin, but it still strikes me as strange. Personally, I prefer a messenger tool to chat, and a programming tool to program, but that is just me.

Michael:
Hello,

Interesting plugin, indeed :). Personally, I do not use too much chat tools (may be because no one would like to speak with me :)), but in case of need (bugs, crashes, etc.) they can be useful (rather better than emails).

I have nothing against such a plugin, but i just wonder if the users will begin to ask for MSN, AOL, etc. plugins :D.

Why would I want a chat plugin in an IDE? Let it be the best IDE, and not a 'jack of all trades, master of non' pile of bloat ware.

I used to use allegro too before I moved on.

I'm against in making a IRC plugin. Period.
