Calm down !
I guess you use my packages, because that are the only debian packages as far as I know.
If that's right you should learn to read the instructions more carefully:
The packages are known to work on ubuntu too. You have to use the appropriate wxwidgets-packages in this case, see here for details.
If you want to use my packages on ubuntu 9.10 (karmic koala) you have to use the packages provided by http://apt.wxwidgets.org for jaunty, because the wx2.8.10 packages from ubuntu are not compatible with the packages from http://apt.wxwidgets.org.
There exists also a repository containing packages for ubuntu, maintained by pasgui, see here how to use it.
I f you would have read carefully the nightly threads after release of ubuntu 9.10 you would have seen, that this is a known issue, but it seems to be caused by ubuntu not us or wxWidgets.
For the other issue you have, you should try to describe it more exactly and/or file a bug-report at berlios, so that we have a chance to find the reason and fix it if possible.
EDIT:I just saw that there are wx2.8.11-packages for ubuntu 9.10 and 10.04 (and some other distros) available at
http://apt.wxwidgets.org now.
I did not test them on ubuntu, but on debian I can use the wx2.8.11 packages together with my wx2.8.10-C::B for debian, but it's not deeply tested, because the packages are really new (not much more than 48 hours).
