FYI:
I have trouble downloading the Nightly builds, I consider this my problem not BerliOS.
I am using 56K dial-up, I assume others using dial-up also may have the issue. I have found a work around by using the Sun Download Manager which is free from Sun at this URL http://www.sun.com/download/sdm/
System Requirements: SDM should work on any platform running J2SE v1.2.2 or higher
Note 1: Pausing FTP is not supported by all sites; BerliOS is a site that does NOT support Pausing downloads.
Note 2: You can stop downloading a file (even after you paused it); and, then highlight the file and pick "Retry File" and it gives you the option to continue the download.

PS: I normally use GetRight to do my downloading but I have ran into a few sites it does a very poor job on. I think the resume download API must differ on some servers. Note: One of the sites I had problems with was the Sun site.

I have found a work around by using the Sun Download Manager
That explains why we have peaks of 17,800 downloads on some days :)
Be careful with things like download managers (in particular don't start-abort-restart them). I don't know whether BerliOS rate-limits visitors by counting requests. If you're unlucky, you may suddenly find your IP banned.
For the records, Sourceforge does rate-limit its users, and they eventually do block your IP. I know that because the threshold is so low that you can trigger it by manually browsing the software trove for an hour or two... which in fact happened to me once a while back.

I only download the CB nightly builds when I find a bug; to figure out when the problem started.
And to confirm it was not a compile issue; I normally use SVN because it has better logic in it to work with poor connections.
