Title: Sourceforge not playing ball with add blocker - move C::B?
Post by: Wkerry on April 15, 2025, 12:10:11 pm
Just tried to access C::B on source forge and it looks like it has implemented a new "feature" to make me turn on adds that I hate.

Maybee someone should look if it is possible to move off sourceforge to github.

Then I suggest moving to Codeberg since GitHub is known to abuse user's rights (https://sfconservancy.org/GiveUpGitHub/) and train their Copilot AI on public user data without proper attribution and that breaks the GPL.

You can also add an add blocker extension in your browser. For me, it's OK with Adblock plus in firefox.

If all you need is to clone C::B code, you can use my github mirror

Btw I agree 100% with this

Can you please stop spamming your web site until it grows and becomes more useful to people as at the moment it has only a handful of downloads and less than 0.001% of the normal download files compared to the normal sites that are used by devs.

Understood, I only found two relevant posts - I removed the post. I partially disagree with the second statement, but it's not your fault; it's mine. Apologies for that; it was not my intention to spam.
