At startup, an error message pops up:
"Code::Blocks v1.0 Error - Directory D:\Documents/.CodeBlocks" coudn't be created (error 3: the system can't find the given path.)"
The first time I ran Code::Blocks the directory D:\Documents didn't exist, but I created a link named like that to D:\ .
(I'm using the D:\ partition as 'my documents')
Now Code::Blocks keeps giving the same message at startup, even when I create a directory named .CodeBlocks under D:\ .

When asking for help, always give as much info as possible. For example, you haven't given us the most crucial piece of info: what C::B version are you using???

This is a very recurring thing.
There isn't any way we can tell users to always specify here or at sourceforge: Code::Blocks version, OS, wxWidgets version, Unicode/ANSI, Compiler version, Debugger version, Obtained from (svn/tgz source/win32 package/linux binary), Build from (autotools, project files) ?

Thomas has done a great job in svn issues: http://forums.codeblocks.org/index.php?topic=1673.0
And of course the must read: http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/bugs.html

Yes, but those apply to SVN issues only indeed. Troubleshooting is more general. ;)

Oops. I'm using the most recent version (of course), the one with MinGW included, under Windows. I've no idea about the other things Takeshi Miya specified.
You could change the description of the 'Troubleshooting' sub-forum to i.e.
"Are you having a problem? Look in here.
Please specify Code::Blocks version, OS, wxWidgets version, Unicode/ANSI, Compiler version, Debugger version, Obtained from (svn/tgz source/win32 package/linux binary) and Build from (autotools, project files)."

You mean C::B RC2 downloaded here (http://www.codeblocks.org/downloads.shtml), right? Anyway, you can also try the latest SVN binary snapshots from Therion (http://paginas.terra.com.br/informatica/mauricio/codeblocks/) or Ceniza (http://gda.utp.edu.co/~ceniza/CodeBlocks/). Usually latest SVN binary has bugs fixed, new features, etc., but it is unofficial.

Yes. I'll try an SVN binairy later.

It's solved with the nightly version of 2 January.

Try the latest nightly build, but if you need an ANSI version of C::B (nightly builds are UNICODE), then look at Therion or Ceniza website.
