Title: Problem with typing

When I type something, instead of there being the flashing "|", there is a flashing "_" and as I type in something, it deletes the thing it is in front of instead of just adding on to it.  Does anyone know why it is doing this and how I can get it back to normal?

Try pushing your 'insert' button.
