After installing code::blocks on my computer (WinXP; 3GB RAM; mingw32 4.5 compiler; over 180GB free hard drive space) it started; showed the splash screen; and appeared before my eyes. Then I closed it down. Later I clicked on the desktop link and as before the splash screen was shown but that was it! Nothing else happened! I clicked on the splash screen, it disappeared, and nothing happened! I did ctrl-alt-delete and clicking on the processes tab there it was loaded into memory but nothing showed on the screen. I deleted it from memory and tried it again, but again only the splash screen appeared. I did this three or four times with the same result. On the fifth try it finally appeared but subsequent tries yielded the same result as before.
It seems to be a hit or miss display. It always loads into memory but it's hit or miss if it will display. I tried uninstalling it, cleaning my drive, rebooting and even shutting down completely. I reinstalled code::blocks but it is still acting temperamental.
Does anyone know why this is happening?

Version of C::B, please? Did you try a(nother) nightly?
-
The version number is 10.05. As far as a "nightly" goes I have no idea what that means. I tried looking it up in the code::blocks manual but found nothing.

I have a very similar problem on win7. Open program, splash screen shows, and nothing happens. The code blocks icon is still on the taskbar, but left clicking it does nothing. Interestingly enough, it was working earlier today. I tried the nightly build and it had the same issue.

You might be missing the Compiler Popup screen; you need to click OK on it to get Code::Blocks up.
(If an compiler path is not set it shows up.)
