This post just for saying I've just installed C::B, it is purely fantastic.
Best regards to developers.

I totally agree !!! :)
Congratulations for the heavy work !

I'm agree too. I found very useful that c::b + gcc provide a unified way to program for various targets, including win32, win64, ARM and AVR microcontrollers (those I really used).
-
Each other IDE have its "annoying few missing options". With C::B I have now my personal ultimate combination :
- Code folding
- Totally customisable syntax highligting ( and editor, I just supressed the (for me) annoying / flashy / disturbing so-called "changebar" )
- Folders : ouput locations customisable + virtual folders
- Multiple targets
- Totally customisable compiler & linker options
I guess ALL is customisable - Great !!!
=> no dropdown-predefined-choices-missing-the-one-that-I-need
Thats what I needed under Linux
Im now a casual developer ( there was a time that was my job ), and at age 38 I know my needs for coding. With C::B, in 15 minutes I setted up my ideal config.

One thing missing ? autotools management maybe

Glad to hear that, thanks! :P
We do the best we can, not to forget the support/effort by the community.
