I don't understand, Are you talking about CodeBlocks or Windows defender. I only know that both have one version.

Which of the 4 downloads?

"Nothing happens" is untrue, the build log must show some messages. Read this at least twice and repost.

I have made a first step on c++
I have downloaded code::blocks
I have copied a simple print program fromwww.w3schools.com
When I click on build and run nothing happens.
can someone advise me what I am missing, please ?

We switched to gcc 14.1.0 (on 20 May 2024) --> download the new wx/mingw dll's see link below
