Title: Found a couple of BUGS on this forum
Post by: LPVOID on March 05, 2018, 09:55:48 am
Hello dear friends at Code::Blocks community :)
Hey.. and yes, I've read the rules. This is not CB bug report.

I am new here, and right away I found some subtle bugs on this forum

1) Upon registering, there is a verification question asking "What is the next year? (All in digits)".
Today is March 2018, so I entered "2019", but that turned out wrong answer, so I typed 2018 and it worked. :) I guess these questions are not dynamic. And I am guessing making the captchas dynamic would help in fighting spam.

2) I saw the news "Accounts with zero posts and zero activity during the last months will be deleted periodically to fight SPAM!"
I think this approach does not make any sense. I mean, deleting INACTIVE users to fight SPAM? Seriously? Lol.

Actually point #2 really disturbed me, as I am guessing I will be here only once in awhile with several months gaps.

Best regards,
LPVOID.

Agreed! Also the registration is not secure. Which in this day and age is not something I encounter a lot.

Agreed.
Twice.

I also had to enter 2018 to register here again after I found out that my account from 2015 was deleted for no apparent reason.
