There has been some really great little tweaks to C::B lately - well done to everyone involved!
In particular I like the squirrel script console and the new wizzards with the debug/release configurations - great work!!
What happened to the standard GL project wizzard though?
(It was really handy to get a bare bones GL app up and running for a quick experiment or two.)
Was it removed for any specific reason?

It probably hasn't been ported to a wizard yet. Look in share/CodeBlocks/templates, opengl.cbp is the one you want I believe. :)

In particular I like the squirrel script console...
I've just found this option under the "View" menu but besides the check mark it has no apparent effect at my end (running Windows 2000). Where is the console supposed to appear? Maybe it doesn't show because of size settings somewhere that are set to 0; are there any?
-
it appears in the messages pane at the bottom

Thanks Seth, that's the one.
@Killerbot
Do you think it will be possible to relocate 'startup.script' to %APPDATA%\codeblocks?
This way if anyone has customized the script it's not lost when moving to the latest nightly.
This would also allow users on the PC to have seperate startup scripts.
Alternatively there could be a userstartup.script in %APPDATA%\codeblocks... :D

what's with the ubuntu builds? this is distro discrimination :P

what's with the ubuntu builds? this is distro discrimination :P
I think you are joking, but it is not discrimination.
Michael is unable to provide the builds at the present time (check the other nightly build posts as this question has been asked ~25 times). cstudent was providing ubuntu builds, but I'm assuming he hasn't had the time to make a new one. Just be patient, or build from SVN trunk yourself it really isn't that hard. :)

Hello
I have had the time to build the Ubuntu .debs. The problem is with savefile.com where I have been uploading them. They are having some problems, but they're working on them. I have today's nightly built and as soon as I can upload it, I will do that.
You can find the last several of the Ubuntu nightly .debs I've made here:
http://www.savefile.com/projects.php?pid=766262 (http://www.savefile.com/projects.php?pid=766262)
There is a place you can sign up for notification and you can get an email when I have updated new builds.
You can also check out a how-to I wrote explaining how to build the debs and also how to install Code::Blocks from svn source (which I think is better) here:
http://wjkirby.googlepages.com/buildingcode%3A%3Ablocksfromsvnonubuntu6.06 (http://wjkirby.googlepages.com/buildingcode%3A%3Ablocksfromsvnonubuntu6.06)

i disable a generic wizard plugin, and now all is going perfect!!strange...
-
OH MY GOD!!!This day is hell for me! :x
I try to disable all plugins and now if i want to start cb it crashes.reinstall dont help. :(
-
Find your default.conf file (if using WinXP, in Documents and Settings\<user>\Application Data\codeblocks).
If you're up to some XML editing, open it in Wordpad. Find the <plugins> section and change their bool attributes back to "1" from "0". Save, exit Wordpad, restart C::B.
If you can't handle that, just delete default.conf, but be warned that all your settings will be lost.
Note: This will, obviously, re-enable your plugins. That doesn't necessarily mean it'll fix the crash...
-
Thanks a lot, i firstly cant find that(my app dir was empty) but then i found it(i have czech winXP).
Thanks!
-
how far has autocompletion progressed so far? it seems to work more or less ok for symbols within the project, but not so well for outside ones, like printf() from stdio.h
I'm using ubuntu linux, c::b compiled from source (svn)

This application is fantastic. I really enjoy it. Too bad it was built using wxWidgets. The startup speed is awful. Anyways a suggestion that might not be too big of a deal.
For the wizard application could there be an option to remove comments. I am a stickler for comments in the barebone templates. I have to delete them all It is very nerve racking. IF not thats okay too I will just keep on deleting each line one by one. Unless there could be a plugin for remove all comments.... In the plugins... That would be very useful.
-
A plugin to remove comments? I thought comments were always good :)
The plugin shouldn't be hard to code anyway. It could have an implementation similar to the Copy Strings plugin (with a DFA). Haven't you considered to contribute such a plugin? :D

Some time ago I tried to force C::B to support WinAVR GCC compiler.
I was disappointed to discover that compiler options were hardcoded in C::B.
Has anyone had any success in adding AVR GCC compiler to C::B?
-
Hi
Is there any way to enable the navigation/arrow keys on the keypad? For the last month or so these have been disabled in Codeblocks.
Thanks

... The startup speed is awful...
You obviously have never used Visual Studio... Switching to C::B was as good as upgrading to a supercomputer. :D
-
Thanks Seth, that's the one.

this might be a good idea. Could you file this as a feature request on the berlios project page.

Will do! - :D Can't wait!

Yeah. Exactly. Anyways I think C::B starts up faster than Dev-C++ IMO. :)
EDIT:
Oh and really the startup speed doesn't have all that much to do with wxWidgets AFAIK. ;)

What?! On my computer Visual studio starting most quick.
Visual studio - about 4sec
Code blocks - about 10sec
-
On my XP SP2, VStudio takes almost 20 s to give me the right to click, while the last build of CB let'd me wait for 4 very short seconds !!

Hello
Ubuntu .deb for this build (2778) is available here:
http://www.filelodge.com/files/room35/970903/Codeblocks/CB_20060723_rev2778_Ubuntu6.06_i386.deb
(http://www.filelodge.com/files/room35/970903/Codeblocks/CB_20060723_rev2778_Ubuntu6.06_i386.deb)
Looks like savefile.com is not going to be very useful the next couple of weeks, so I'm trying a new file host.

Hello
Thanks. I gave them a look. Not bad, but I'll try to leave it with filelodge.com for now until savefile.com gets back up and running. Savefile.com is upgrading and adding servers, so hopefully, things will improve and I'll go back to using them. I'm mostly just trying to fill the void while Michael is unable to provide the .debs anyway.
