Development / wxWidgets version mismatch in About dialog on Linux
« Last post by PB on Today at 02:37:16 pm »
JFYI...

After a long time, I have launched my Ubuntu VM and I upgraded it from v24 to v26.

I tried whether C::B still works and noticed in its About dialog, that wxWidgets is reported as 3.2.4 in the build info line but 3.2.9 in the Information tab. Using Ctrl+Alt+MiddleClick confirms that wxWidgets is indeed 3.2.9.

Unfortunately, I have no idea where I got C::B from and how to check whether the reported GCC version is correct.

When the same version nightly is run on Windows, both wxWidgets versions are the same there.

Here is a patch for debugger_gdbmi_Windows.cbp
There was an error in the building of the zip file: 3 files were missing. So the GDB/MI panel did not display the configuration.

I originally wrote the glob feature, and then somebody worked on it, to provide a UI, and some other features.
Since that day, it has been driving me crazy, what I suffered from was, when I edited such opened file, and saved it, it always jumped to the start of the file, and the close thing I might have suffered from that too.

So nice to see, there is a fix. I will try to check if in my projects this is solved too.

I started ditching the glob feature use due to that regression, since I don't have time myself to go study what happened to the original feature.

Issue is due to an extra file separator added in calculating relative path. This causes false failure  on checking if file is in glob list. And it results in editor being closed.

Fix added in svn r13949

General (but related to Code::Blocks) / CodeBlocks 20.03 pre 2023 builds
« Last post by codingisfun on August 12, 2026, 11:00:46 am »
Hi
I've recently tried to reinstall codeblocks 20.03 on my retro windows xp machine and I realized it won't work anymore, 2 years ago I downloaded the exact same version and it worked perfectly fine on the exact same machine, it turns out somebody has updated the files and the new files give you a broken build. to confirm it I dug up this old portable 20.03 build dated 2021 from archive.org and I can confirm it used to work, if you've got older installers please give me a link I want to burn them into a DVD so my time won't be wasted again.
