Variable expansion in program arguments

Is there a way/syntax to use global variables or at least pre-defined variables (e.g. $PROJECT_DIR) in the "Set program arguments..." dialog?

Nice idea! I wonder why this is not implemented... :shock: Please file a feature request so it doesn't get lost.
