Hi all,

I have a problem about zip.exe.
refering to ... http://wiki.codeblocks.org/index.php?title=Nightly_Cookbook
There is a direct link to download zip232.zip, but I can't find zip.exe. Perhaps, should I try to compile zip.c and create a zip.exe by Code::Blocks? If it is a really stupid problem, please forgive me. I am a new guy, but I just want to play wxSmith. Thanks for your reply. :P

Oh! :o I download
Code::Blocks IDE, with MINGW compiler
Filesize: 13,597,181 Bytes | Version: 1.0rc2
MD5 Hash: 7638bdd4fd087b3168be4f0f968d1f3c
http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/codeblocks/codeblocks-1.0rc2_mingw.exe?download
Can it be used to do Nightly_Cookbook in Windows 2000 SP4?

247MB RAM lets me wait a lot of time at every steps. :(

I come from Taiwan, and my English is bad. However, I try my best to write this essay. Please reply to me, if there is something I don't write correctly. Thank you again. :D

Regards,
erikkk

1.0rc2 is pretty old and buggy, don't use it.

On W2k you can use actually C::B nightly from here.
You only need MingW and wxWidgets if you want to use them, if you use another compiler or toolkit, you only need the dll's C::B is linked against.
You find the links in the nightlies announcements.

On W2KSP4 and WinXPSP2 I use MingW 4.2.1-dw2 (technical preview) from mingw.org and a self-compiled wxWidgets 2.8.7 (source from wxwidgets.org, compiled as decribed in nightly cookbook).

You can download zip.exe from http://www.info-zip.org/Zip.html (or a link found there).

Thank you, Jens.

I'd done those things aready. My problem is about zip.exe. Where is zip.exe? In fact, it doesn't work when update.bat executes.

The C::B environment attracts me very much, but it seems to be easier to use borland than use C::B with wxWidgets.

erikkk

C::B does not ship with zip.exe as this is usually installed on every system. If you don't have it, please download it here:
http://infozip.sourceforge.net/
...or the d/l link:
http://infozip.sourceforge.net/Zip.html#Win32
...or search with google for "infozip download".
With regards, Morten.

Hi !

and once it is extracted, it must be referenced by the PATH environment variable (at least on Windows).
