cant change setting under compiler option

hi there,
I just installed the svn:4830 codeblocks, and in order to use a custom makefile I used this guide:

which basically said to change this:
a) In "Compiler Settings", under the tab "Other", there's a setting called "Build Method". Choose "Work with makefiles".

however that option is disabled and Im not able to change it!

can anyone help please? (sorry im totally new to codeblocks)
