User forums > Using Code::Blocks
smaller tabs in the linux version
knue:
Hi,
perhaps it is possible to reduce the size of the tabs in the bottom in the linux version. (The ones with Code:Blocks, Search-Results, Todo-List and so on). The windows version is 50% smaller and if you work with the linux version it becomes very annoying, that the tabs reduce the size of the editor window in the end.
Is this possible or is there no interest in fixing this?

i'm very new to linux, but i thought the same as you when i saw it hte first time..
but in linux in general the fonts and proportions are not very well balanced between different applications
all gnome apps are using very much display space (lavishing) while other apps are looking very condensed...
at least at my standard Ubuntu 5.04 installation
compared to these, CodeBlocks has its own style but looks in general much better than most of the other linux-apps

hmm, I do not like GTK very much. I use KDE and prefer QT-apps. They look better in my opinion. But have a look at the firefox (also a GTK-app under Linux). Just open a few Tabs and you'll see that those ones are very small. This must be able in Codeblocks, too, since wxGTK is only a wrapper for GTK.

Yeah well... I think that's a problem with GNOME. There must be a theme setting somewhere.... :( But I don't know where.
Heh - I installed coLinux and suddenly I'm a full-fledged Linux user? :P

try in a shell:
#switch2
you can manage your themes there. Perhaps you have this tool installed
