Unless I did something weird while buiding,

CodeCompletion Toolbar : show namespace in left choice control when outside any function

Doesn't work, at least, not that I could see. Can anyone confirm this?

well you must be in the scope of a namespace, global namespace is not signalled (will be in future) ...

Is it very difficult to solve the wrong CodeCompletion color on XP?

It's not "wrong" color.
wxScintilla's popup used a hack to have the "correct" color, only that it made the IDE flicker like mad when code-completion popped up. So, this hack was disabled to fix the flickering. The only side-effect was that the selection color is the inactive color. If you have set the inactive selection color same as the window background, we can't do much...
Be patient!
This bug will be fixed soon...

  • code snippets patch applied

The changes this patch applies are in this topic: http://forums.codeblocks.org/index.php?topic=3377.msg31970#msg31970

I'm currently aware of two issues at least, which are both minor:

When the search text box's background color is painted light red it might leave a solid lines around the text box when rest of the repainted with the default OS background color. The lines disappear when you focus the search box again. I can only see this on XP with the teletubby (Luna) theme.

Steps to reproduce:

1. Use the Luna theme on XP
2. Search for a string that doesn't exist; the search box's backgound is painted with light red color.
3. Press the Clear button.
4. Search box has a light red lines around it; focus the control and the lines disappear.

Another issue is with the scrollbars; they are not hidden if you search for a long string that causes the root item's name to be more wider than the current client area (assuming that the scrollbars are hidden in the first place). This is a bug in wxWidgets and it happens in XP at least (probably other Windows versions too).

Steps to reproduce:

1. Remove all snippets (backup first if they're important) and make sure that the scrollbars are invisible.
2. Search for a very long string that causes the scrollbar to appear.
3. Press Clear.
4. Scrollbar stays visible.

Ok, thank you. I was just surprised not seeing the selected item anymore. Because I changed the visual style (I tried the Vista Transformation Pack 5.5 8)), I knew it had something to do with one of the color settings. Then I found out the background color of a selected item in wxScintilla's popup is "3D objects", the background color for buttons and dialog-background.

Hmm... it seems that this nightly has the older version of Code snippets (the patch is applied however), you can ignore my previous post.

Hello everybody.

How to start Code::Block under winME? Here are some tips.

I hope this is the right place for my post. (Dear Admin, if not pleas tell me and move the post)

I'm still using winME and have problems to run the ansi-build. I have to delete some plugins. If not, C::B starts but the only thing I see is the intro-image (I've disabled the tip's woindow some weeks ago). After that the screen is like before stating C::B and there is no C::B button in the task-bar. But I can see the C::B task in the task-manager.

After draging the dll's "debuggergdb.dll" and "codecompletion.dll" into another folder, where cb could not find, it is possible to start the C::B main-window and work with C::B. But while trying to configure the editor C::B crashes. I have to drag the dll's "astyle.dll", "keybinder.dll", "wxsmith.dll" also to configure the rest of the editor.

But in the last days I found a configuration of the eviroment (general settings) to run C::B only without the "debuggergdb.dll". If I allow to run more than one instance and disable the loading of anny file while stating, C::B starts regulary. Only the trial to reconfigure the editor-settings leads still into a crash (I've tested it with the release of the 14th of september).

OK, for me this is good enough. I can live without the debuger because there are other tools I can use.
For mee the important feature is the symbol-parser of the code-completion.  I tried out C::B in my company under winXP. So I know what things are configurable with the other dll's and I think a can live with the editor as it is. But on the other side, in whitch files are the configurations stored. Perhaps it is possible to change them per hand?

One intresting thing is that there are some winME-computers where C::B starts without deleting dll's. I have two mashines (in diffrent cyties) and on one C::B starts but it also crashes by starting the editor-configuration. I wonder where is the difference between both computers. If've installed C::B rc2 on both mashines (firefox also, Ife read that one user had the same problems after running firefox). But the mashine where C::B starts has no internet and no norton antivirus.

I hope this post will help useres and devellopers also.

Kind regards,
                   Eckard Klotz.

could you try out a nightly , rc2 is very old.
In the nightly announcements there's very often a reply from setjackson providing a link to an ansi build (which is what you need on WinMe). It is possible there might be problems with that one also, not sure.
