wxWidgets version mismatch in About dialog on Linux

(1/1)

PB:
JFYI...

After a long time, I have launched my Ubuntu VM and I upgraded it from v24 to v26.

I tried whether C::B still works and noticed in its About dialog, that wxWidgets is reported as 3.2.4 in the build info line but 3.2.9 in the Information tab. Using Ctrl+Alt+MiddleClick confirms that wxWidgets is indeed 3.2.9.

Unfortunately, I have no idea where I got C::B from and how to check whether the reported GCC version is correct.

When the same version nightly is run on Windows, both wxWidgets versions are the same there.

Miguel Gimenez:
One is the version used to compile C::B, it will not change until a recompilation. The other is the version of the wxWidgets dynamic library used to run C::B, it may change after a system update.

wx3.2.x is special because the library name does not change with version updates, so C::B just uses the new library as they have the same ABI. This mismatch will not happen with wx3.3.x.

PB:
I see, thanks for the explanation. So basically the same as the compile- and run-time version of GTK reported there.
