Boost Library
« on: February 20, 2006, 01:32:07 pm »
Hi all,

I have done some search on the web but found nothing more interesting than boosts own "getting started". Now I'm sitting at 2.7 Gig of libraries after building and installing the libs! However a small programm using boosts serialization built with C::B/MinGW works fine, so I can be happy after all  :)

Does anyone know an active forum concerning boost since this seems not to be the right place to discuss such things at all?

Regards

Look at http://www.boost.org/, especially the Groups section :).

Best wishes,

Boost don't haves forums AFAIK, only mailing lists.

Hi Micheal and Takeshi Miya.

well that's the point, they have no forum ;) Somehow I don't like mailing lists. Often you just want to search the posts in a forum and the answer is already there... So I was wondering if someone might know an unofficial forum where some of the cracks may be around :)

Best regards

You can do the same with the mailing lists .

Not really. I have tried a fast search, but found nothing useful :(.

Best wishes,
Michael

Hi,

I was afraid you would say this ;) I have done a quick search as well and found nothing of interest so maybe I should search the mailing lists

Best regards

To whom it may interest:

The boost user mailing list has a newsgroup interface and a searchable archive at the gateway http://news.gmane.org/gmane.comp.lib.boost.user as well. Most of the other list are also available. (Next time I try harder to find it before making my inquiry here ;-) )

Best regards, Thomas

You can also view the mailing list straight from the boost site on the web at http://lists.boost.org/boost-users/ It's a pain to navigate. I wish boost would get some forums like these I'm not much of a mailing list person either.
