Linux Mint: symbol browser disabled
« on: October 26, 2021, 11:55:05 am »
Dear all.
I'm new on the forum.
I've just installed Code::Blocks a few weeks ago on Linux Mint 20.1.
I noticed that I can not use the symbol browser: if I click in the menu on "View" -> "Symbol browser", I receive the following error message: "The symbol browser is disabled in wx3.x builds. We've done this because it causes crashes."
So, there is no way to use the symbol browser. Is it a bug in Linux Mint? Could it be fixed in a future update of Code::Blocks?
Best Regards.

A few things:
1. Linux Mint 20.2 has been out for a while.
2. Sounds like you have installed C::B 20.03 as it's the latest official release.
3. It is already fixed in the nightly releases. Check out the https://forums.codeblocks.org/index.php/board,20.0.html for the latest nightly build info.

The C::B Ubuntu builds can be installed on LM. The latest Ubuntu nightly is the SVN 12516 release. The ubuntu PPA info is in release thread for SVN 12516.
