Is it possible to install two versions of CB on same pc without conflicts ? second installation setup points to same directory as the one already installed, would I just need to point to a new directory ?

Yes, you have to point it to a new directory, then it should work fine...
But they may use the same settings file in your document directory. You can use personalities to use different settings:

Also you may have to uncheck the option "run only one instance of codeblocks" in the environment settings
