Defining STAGING_DIR

Hi,
    I am using Codeblocks on a Ubuntu VM and trying to cross compile for openwrt.
    When I build there is a message
    warning environmental variable STAGING_DIR not defined
    I have been trying to define it in Global variables without success
    I would appreciate any advice on how to define the variable.

OpenWRT is Makefile based, where do you get the cb project file?
