Codeblocks compiler pathway problems (I think)

When I launch codeblocks, a notification saying "Cant find compiler executive in your configured search path's for GNU GCC Compiler". I think it has something to do with the pathways for the program, because before when I was using an ide for batari basic that was what the problem was but I cant remember how I solved it. Help would be appreciated. I can save programs and create them (doing c++ right now) but I cannot build them, which means I cant run them. Clicking build and run just brings up a blank program run screen.
