This patch will break the 64 bit build of the squirrel bindings, unfortunately. So I doubt it will be applied anytime soon (as it is at least).

Can you be give some more information? I'm happy to help improve the patch, but I'm not sure what part would specifically break the 64-bit build. I've only a 32-bit system so not sure whether I can debug things my end.
