Need Help

(1/1)

Darc0917:
Hi here, first off.. I'm not too sure if I'm in the right section on the forums  Anyways..

I'd really like some help from someone who knows exactly what they're talking about. Could someone please give me steps from where I'm at, to creating a finished MMORPG?
Here's what I have so far.. Three small notebooks listing all the NPC names, dialogue, weapons, skills, classes etc.. u get the point. I also bought a book called "Sams teach yourself C++" And I installed Code::Blocks from the CD they gave me. I've been going through the book and it's pretty confusing. I've really been wanting to create a PC game since I was 12. Now that I'm going into college majoring in computer science I might be able to make that happen.

Will I need to know C++ if I plan on making one these? Am I getting myself into something I can't handle? I've tried to submit my idea to companies that create games but I still have not received an answer even after 2 years. I would appreciate it if someone could give me some guidance. I don't want to waste my life taking classes I don't need or buying books that won't get me anywhere.

Oh, and I could REALLY use some help on this project. Please visit my site at www.bronsonmeyer.webs.com The game is called Ascendancy, it's a medieval styled MMORPG. I pretty much took all the pro's and con's of the MMO's I've ever played and put together a game avoiding all those con's. And a year later I finished. But now I need to transfer what I have on paper onto the screen.

I also need someone who could teach me better than this book can. I'm sure it's a good book but some 1-on-1 teaching is always better. I would appreciate it very much, my name's Bronson. You can reach me at Darc0917@hotmail.com or sign up on my website and send me a message.

Thanks so much!

Sorry, but you're not even in the right website. The Code::Blocks forums are for discussing the specifics of using the Code::Blocks IDE, not for general programming or development topics. Try gamedev.net.
