cant make quotation marks (mac)

Hello, i got a problem. In program i cant make these quotation marks = " (shift+')
need to write: cout << "text";
I can make them in web browser, text editor programs but cant in codeblocks, what is the problem?
I use mac os x 10.6.4 and codeblocks 10.05
