The Ugly Linux Code::Blocks...
« on: November 09, 2005, 10:30:31 pm »
One of my first impressions when I compiled and ran Code::Blocks under Linux was... ewwww, ugly...

But... after a few little tests see what I got :)

What a difference, eh?

Well, in fact, it's just a matter of taste.

BTW, what do you think about adding the nice screenshot to the Screenshots section? :D

Good idea! Can you make screenshots to replace all the linux ones?

P.S. using small toolbuttons might help, too :)

Ceniza,

What did you do to improve the looks, on my linux box it also looks kind of ugly.

Cheers,
Lieven

Yeah, just tell me what you want me to take a screenshot of.

I just installed the gtk-theme-switch package and a few GTK2 themes. That one is gtk2-engines-spherecrystal.

Just run gtk-theme-switch2 and apply a theme to see how it looks.

Just take a look at the linux screenshots and try to replicate the screens with all the panes and features shown.

Oh, right. Anyway, try to replicate that one, and we're done.

Hmmm... I don't really see that a big difference between them. What'd be the idea? Two open projects, two open files and the Code::Blocks Message tab selected?

I like the gtk clearlooks theme a lot. Check it out.

However I still like a lot more the default Enlightenment E17 theme. I'll try to make some screenshots if I get a linux working on this motherboard.

And I'd remove those ugly screenshots from the Windows' Green Olive theme.

Well, another theme set and a better screenshot (it's a shame Code::Blocks crashes when I close it, though. I'll take a look at it later).

Well, the server with the images seems to be down right now, but I hope it be up again tomorrow.

I've noticed the images weren't added to the screenshots section, even though I would also like to show you this one:

BTW, all the other images are there too.

Deja-vu? In fact, that snapshot is Code::Blocks running in FreeBSD 6.0 :)

Enjoy the view...
