Highlighting the parenthesis

Hi All:
First Thanks for a nice way to learn to code.  I`m sure it is much more to others but I`m starting out new.

I have one suggestion.  Is there a way, when highlighting a word to cut or copy, that the program can be modified to prevent inclusion of the parenthesis next to the first or last character?  When I try to cut or copy a word next to parenthesis the parenthesis invariably gets highlighted.  I try to be very careful to prevent this from happening but it seems even before I wipe over the character I wish to work on the parenthesis highlights and is included in the cut or copy.  I know, it is picky, but would surely help us little people do our work easier.

If you double-click on the word, the word will be selected but any neighboring parens will not.
