Hi,

my name is Edgar Franke from Karlsruhe, Germany, and I whould like to help
with the german translation and ask wether anybody else is doing the same.

I have already sent a message to Szabadember, who had offered to start a
german translation a few months ago.

I'm working here with handicapped people and some of them do not even know
a single word of english language (and really memorize all terms and commands
without knowing the english meaning), to them it whould be a big help to have
at least a german interface (even partially german whould help).

To me myself C++ and english language are not such a problem but 2000 strings
make me get dizzy in my head ...

thank you,

- edgar

It seems that several French translation are in progress ... I propose to centralize the differents files codeblocks.pot on this page : http://grandzebu.net/informatique/cpp/codeblocks.htm
Just send the file to frenchcb at grandzebu dot net (Replace at and dot !)
Perhaps this will help us to share the work !

I haven't read all of this thread, but it seems that a central translation server could be good for everybody.

Why not register CodeBlocks at https://launchpad.net/ ?
This makes it easy to coordinate many translators, and to see how translation is progressing.

WxWidgets uses launchpad for translation

At http://wiki.codeblocks.org/index.php?title=Internationalization, I write a script called intl.bat. Use this script can take almost all of the translating strings out from the source files. From the begining, I have been using it. Of course, I'll update it if I have found it missed some strings.

If wanting CB to support your language, you must modify the file \codeblocks\src\src\appglobals.cpp. In it, you can search the word 'Chinese' to see the example.

using launchpad for translation might really be a good idea!

i (too) started to translate Code::Blocks into german and saw atleast two other people around here doing the same thing. not coordinating this means the same work is done too often...

using launchpad should really accelerate the translations and at the same time improve its quality (since non registered users can atleast suggest translations in launchpad).

attached is my first go at a german translation. its faaaaar away from being finished but atleast its a start...

OK everyone. I 've registered C::B in launchpad. Project page is at http://launchpad.net/products/codeblocks.
I 've also uploaded the latest .pot file by heromyth (30 June).

I don't know how we 'll use this system but I guess I 'll find out after my vacations are over ;).
Be patient!
This bug will be fixed soon...

great! thanks alot :D

if understand it right the only thing left to do is register the codeblocks-project with "rosetta" (the translation frontned of launchapd) so people can start the translations!

gah, posintg lgihtly drunk is NOT a good idea...

Hi,

I would like to notice that french translation is over, as you can see here :

https://launchpad.net/products/codeblocks/trunk/%2Bpots/codeblocks/fr/+translate?batch=10&show=translated

A lot of work had been done by the first translators but a few sentences were missing or needing correction.
I asked help to friends and now I think it is usable.

Can you please tell me how much time you will need to integrate french in the Code::Blocks package ?
I am running a french C / C++ programming tutorial on www.siteduzero.com, and a french version would help a lot in spreading Code::Blocks (more than you can imagine ;) )

Thanks :)
