Resolved Fixed:

  • wxSmith redesign:
     * Added missing style initialization
  • Fixed crash when "cleaning" a file not belonging to a project (and no project was open earlier)
  • Possible fix for wrong debugger's output parsing in some cases (when special chars would be printed)
  • Fixed broken build on sdk/pipedprocess.cpp (ANSI)
  • Fixed issues when adding a file to the project as an absolute path (mainly confused the debugger). Shouldn't be allowed anyway, except for files residing in another drive (windows only)
  • If a project is closed while it is being debugged, correctly shut down the debugger
  • When debugging and the user (or the app) tries to activate another project, the user is offered two choices: a) end debugging or b) re-activate the debuggee
  • When debugging and hitting a breakpoint, make sure the editor's line is unfolded if needed (bug #7579)
  • For windows platforms, don't add duplicate files/projects to recent files history if they only differ in case (bug #7547)
  • The custom code-completion control is no longer the default choice for windows platforms

Regressions/Confirmed/Annoying/Common bugs:

  • toolbar-images-not-changing-state (is a wx problem/Win XP problem)
  • there are several issues with Code Completion (is being redesigned : work in progress)

Hello all,
I don't know if here is a good place to ask, but I have some problem with C::B nightly builds. When I run it and splash screen is displayed, I get following error:
"GetStringFromArray not found in codeblocks.dll library"
(or something similiar - don't know excactly how it'll be in english, `cause I'm Polish).
I've got the newest version of C::B (2006-05-25), with the previous I used (2006-05-15) I've had the same problem. But, RC2 is fine - no error messages appeared when I was running it.
Do you know the solution? I know that isn't big problem, but it's frustrating a bit.
TIA, regards

EDIT: BTW, I use WinXP ;-)

@paffbucy:

I've been running C::B nightly builds on WinXP Pro with no problems. This is my recipe for success:  8)

1. Install MinGW separately (mine is in c:\MinGW) <--- you will only do this once :P
2. Simply unzip the C::B build into an EMPTY directory (mine is in c:\CodeBlocks)
3. Copy 'mingwm10.dll' and 'wxmsw26u_gcc_cb.dll' into the cb directory
4. Get back to work!

@killerbot:
Thank you for doing an absolutely fantastic job! Your continuous work (along with the rest of the team) has improved C::B to such an extent that it has become my IDE of choice... *silence* ....  :P you can feel it can't you? A rattle in your bones, a chill down your spine. There's a 'but' here somewhere, a nasty little 'but' hiding somewhere in this praise of your work ... but where could it be...?

 ...however, there are a few small niggly things hampering my daily use of this smashing project. Right now my two biggest peeves are:

1. Ctrl+Tab scrolls cyclicly through the open documents- it would be great if it could rather 'stack' the most recently viewed documents. (Much like VS 6+)
2. The Find/Replace dialog is a tad painful to work with. It would really help matters if the dialog wasn't modal and the separate 'find next'/'replace all' dialog was incorporated into the original dialog.

I realize that you are extremely busy - so I had a look at the code myself. The solutions don't seem to be such a gargantuan task, and I would have liked to contribute the solutions. Alas my experience with wxWidgets is so limited that I'm afraid I'll just mess the code up too much. Perhaps with some guidance from you I could tackle the problems myself, or alternatively you could put your l33t skillzorz at work on these little niggles.

Thanks again to everyone involved for one of the most promising and competent IDEs on the net.

Hello,

Feature request can be posted at berliOS (see www.codeblocks.org):

http://developer.berlios.de/account/login.php?return_to=%2Ffeature%2F%3Ffunc%3Daddfeature%26group_id%3D5358

Even if your experience with wxWidgets is limited (anway, there is always some space for improvments :)), you can contribute and provide a patch. Patches are not directly applied, but tested before. So, do not scare to mess up the code :).

Best wishes,
Michael

Quote
Could not auto-detect installation path of "GNU GCC Compiler"
but MinGW is installed and MinGW\bin present in %PATH% enviroment
MinGW install path is "D:\Program Files\MinGW"

I think it hunts for it on C:\Program Files ;-)
Just point to it yourself in the programs tab of the MingW compiler in CB (compiler and debugger settings)

I did a quick build on Suse 10.0 and uploaded the file to savefile.com: http://www.savefile.com/files/5856206

It's with contrib plugins, but without wxsmith (it doesn't build, if pch is disabled and it was just a quick build ;) ). It's the same rev as these nightlies.
