Playing multiple sounds at once (multimedia Api)

Hi guys, so I'm looking to get a multimedia Api or something that will allow me to play multiple sounds at once in a console programme

The playsound system I'm using at the moment only works with singular sounds

I don't care how I get it done but I need multiple sounds at once in the project, what is the easiest way, or the easiest thing I can do to get this done.

I have no experience with this sort of thing so any help would be greatly appreciated.
