multi-monitor editing
« on: June 18, 2008, 01:35:57 pm »
hi,

is it possible to open a new editor window on a second monitor?
I mean something like split view but on two screens.
I'm using nightly 5093 and activated 'enhanced multi-monitor dialog placement'.
So I can move Symbols Browser and Log on other monitor.
But if you want to compare two files and copy from on to another
a second edit window would help!
Regards,
It's never too late to fail!

Good question. Does anyone have an answer for this?

Yes, it is not possible.

Is such a feature coming in the future at any time?

I don't see this implemented any time soon.
We would have got this automatically from wxwidgets with the new wxaui rework.
But all the work in this wxwidgets branch is stalled.
So, either we have to do the rework ourselves or use some kind of workarounds.

The best solution will be if someone picks the new aui work and finish it. But it is complex and low reword work. :(
