Code::Blocks locking in Fedora 28
« on: June 16, 2018, 05:01:05 pm »
OS: Fedora 28
Kernel: 4.16.15-300.fc28.x86_64
Code::Blocks version: 17:12

I ran Fedora updates a few days ago and now when I try to open projects or files in Code::Blocks, my computer locks up. is anyone else experiencing issues? I tried uninstalling C::B, manually installing the updates and reinstalling but no help.

Which codeblocks do you use ?
The versions from our website or the official version from Fedora repo.
I just switched from my svn build (a little older) to the official version (17.12-5.fc28) and don't see any issues.

I was using the Fedora version. I tried the version from the website but the install fails.

edit:
I reinstalled the os from scratch, installed cmake, the xorg development packages and allegro 5 and so far it is working. I think the update caused a conflict somewhere.

Next time before doing that; ask where the Code::Blocks configs are stored and then uninstall CB and delete the CB configs and reinstall CB. It would be faster and likely better than 50 percent change it might fix the error you had.
