Somehow I failed to get my browser (current Firefox) showing me this forum in https. It keeps telling me that the forum page is insecure.
I would like to change that. Maybe I am missing something stupid.
Does anyone gets a secure login and browsing from the server?  Any tips on what I may be doing wrong?

If not, I would like to suggest to add a certificate to the server (self signed would be better than nothing) and offer is page under
 https://forums.codeblocks.org

It might also happen because of networks too.
So using VPN would help you in accessing sites that are blocked or not easy to access.

I think using VPN addresses a different issue.

As far as i know this forum does not support https at the moment. If i open the forum site as https then there is the firefox warning about self signed certificate... I do not know if the admins work on porting the forum to https..
As far as i know, firefox will reject non https sites in the (far away) future [1], so we have to move the forum to https to make it fit for future...

This should not be to much work for the admins and the costs should be nearly zero with https://letsencrypt.org/ (beside the higher work load for encryption on the server)

If you don't want to use LetsEncrypt, there are also cheaper options, something like $5-6 per year or $23 per five years. I don't think you will find a lower price. If there's any admin interested please PM and we can help.
