Legal query: Reproducing images of Code::Blocks IDE
(1/1)
Mattadon:
Hello,
I am currently conducting accessibility reviews of various various websites and software applications for a university assignment. I chose to include Code::Blocks in my list because it is my go-to IDE for C++.
Part of this process involves reproducing screenshots of the Code::Blocks application to demonstrate the results of my report. These screenshots will be hosted on a public webpage on my university file-space.
I wanted to know if anyone here knew if this is permissable. I have looked for Legal sections of the forum and website. The program is licenced under the GNU General Public Licence, but I didn't find a section relating to reproductions of content in the context of screenshots - just redistribution of code.
Many thanks!

You should check the license of the images used in the UI, but I think it should be permissive as well. I'm not sure if we have a separate license for them in the repo.

The images used in the normal UI are developed by us (Thomas) - no problem with that.
If you see other images (i.e. from a wizard) this might be different.

Yeah, I just needed a couple of captures of the main window and the environment settings dialog.
Thanks for the help!
