Issue with Code Completion with the Cygwin compiler

Hey guys! Apology ahead of time if this is a really stupid question. My issue is as the title states. Code completion just doesn't work for any compiler outside of the default MinGW compiler. I was wondering if there was any kind of setup I needed to do to get it working? This issue also happens with Clang.

After some googling, I found the CodeCompletion Redesign plugin that's on this forum. I could not find a download. Anyway, if anyone could help me that would be awesome! Thanks ahead of time!

Please post code that fails to complete with the Cygwin compiler.
While, I myself do NOT use code completion (CC); I might be one of the few regular posters with the Cygwin compiler already installed.

Edit: Please include Cygwin and Code::Blocks (CB) version info.
Edit2: Also, include the Cygwin Compiler version info.
Edit3: Also, whether using 64 or 32 bit version of Cygwin.
Edit4: For cLang there is a different CC Plugin that might help; no idea where it is and how good it works.

Thanks a lot for the quick response man! Any code that hasn't been written myself. I.E. associated directly with the compiler. For example:

int main()
{

    std::cout << "Hello, world!" << std::endl;

}

The code above, when typed with the standard MinGW compiler, as std:: is typed it gives me a list of auto-completion options. With any other compiler it does not.

CB Version: latest nightly build. SVN 10341
Cygwin version: 2.871 64bit

I have confirmed the problem using
Windows 7 32 bit
Cygwin 32 bit (just updated today)
cygwin gcc version 4.9.3
CB version 13.12 (next will see if current nightly has problem.)

Typing std::c does not give CC hints.

Jeez man, thanks a lot for all the help. Don't worry about it if you can't find a solution. I'd love one obviously haha, but it's nice to know that this isn't just me having this issue.

Adding this "$(TARGET_COMPILER_DIR)\lib\gcc\i686-pc-cygwin\4.9.3\include\c++" to
Settings -> Compiler
Select Cygwin Compiler
Tab "Search Directory"
Sub Tab: "Compiler"

Note: CB 13.12 was very slow on working compared to recent nightly and I had to close and re-open the project on both of them.

CC had no idea of where to look for the header files; on MinGW Compiler likely it has the location imbedded in it (inside the CB Compiler Plugin).
So, a better fix would be to add code to the Cygwin code in CB that adds this; but, that is a lot of work for any a few users.
If I every decide to use Cygwin on a regular basis I might try to add the code to the CB Compiler Plugin for Cygwin.

Hrm, interesting. Suppose that all makes sense. Maybe I'll read into some CB plugin dev to see if I can do it myself. Thanks a lot for all the help!

CC get the compiler location from CB compiler plugin. For example, if you have c:/mingw set in compiler, then CC will see that "c:/mingw/g++.exe" is the c++ compiler. And it will run this compiler with "-E" option to fetch all the build in include file search paths.

I'm not sure how it is done for Cygwin, basically, it should be the same. I haven't check the source code yet.
If some piece of memory should be reused, turn them to variables (or const variables).
If some piece of operations should be reused, turn them to functions.
If they happened together, then turn them to classes.

I'm not sure how it is done for Cygwin, basically, it should be the same. I haven't check the source code yet.

It likely does the same for Cygwin; but, the resulting paths are NOT likely to work because they will likely NOT be windows paths.
I will try it and see what the result is.

Cygwin returns unix type paths; that is why it does NOT work.

It should works under gcc(either Linux native gcc or windows native gcc), but I don't see code here to handle the cygwin include path prefix.
If some piece of memory should be reused, turn them to variables (or const variables).
If some piece of operations should be reused, turn them to functions.
If they happened together, then turn them to classes.

Edit: I have no plans to try to fix this issue; but, the function GetGCCCompilerDirs is in file nativeparser.cpp of the CC Plugin.

Wow, this is an awesome response to all this! Thanks for all the help everyone. It's great to hear that this will work on Linux then, as I'm switching my main OS over to Linux very soon.
