Invisible undrscore('_') character in C::B linux
« on: November 01, 2013, 04:32:16 pm »
Hi,
I installed Code::Blocks on my Linux. I am using CrunchBang Waldorf, distro based on Debian stable. I'm new to linux, so take my apologize if I do something stupid.

I installed c::b nightly build from repo of another user, admin of C::B forum. Everything works fine, except of one thing: I can't figure out why '_' is invisible and how can I turn visibility for it on. Basically, it looks just like a space. It's blank, empty space. If I turn showing space characters(small dots), then I can see that these are indeed not spaces. Also, they are not a problem in programming, as compiler recognizes them. Yet I don't, and it's really not making me comfortable to work with some other libraries, like SDL.

Any hints? Thanks in advance!

PS.
It's in Editor(I mean, everything works, but I can't see these '_' characters). Also, when testing font in menu(preview), i can see underscore.

Did you try to set another font in "Settings -> Editor... -> general settings -> Editor settings -> Font -> Choose" (looks like it is really deep nested, but it's not really, as you will see).

Hmm... Thanks, it works. I changed font to other, that has '_' visible. However, it's a bit strange that some fonts haven't got this working. Looks like mostly "mono" fonts lack this character in editor, but idk.
Anyway, thanks for reply. You sure reply here faster then on mail :)

Not always, but last week I had not so much time, because my ten years old son was operated.
