Btw when talking about previous splash screen inspirations, we really need to close this gap a little...
Oops, not again; I keep opening the wrong file without noticing. :?

I added text lighting back in - is it too much/little?

Nice logo ! :)

I think that "SVN" could be smaller, but the logo is really fine even like this. :)

Yeah, yeah, it's reaching a high level of coolness. :)  8)
One more try: A bit darker background for splash screen and a white/transparent version for Start here page?
Btw isn't the resolution - 450 x 239 - a bit odd?

Apparently Microsoft lost one of the images I uploaded... I re-uploaded it, so that is why the second image has appeared in my previous post.

Background darkened, "SVN" reduced slightly, image size regularized (I was not paying attention to it as I transformed and edited blender's output).

Transparent background.

I love this one. I think a rectangle around the "svn xxx" is not necessary.
If some piece of memory should be reused, turn them to variables (or const variables).
If some piece of operations should be reused, turn them to functions.
If they happened together, then turn them to classes.

Agree!

BTW, no much different from the actual one... but still, I like this one better.

But we don't have a new release! So it is useless at the moment.

It is great that you like it.

If you plan to let Code::Blocks generate the version number, you might need one of these.

For anyone who is curious, here are the resources I used to create this splash.

(By the way, if you are wondering why I edited all my previous posts, it is because Microsoft wants to end the service I am using, so I was testing some alternatives.)

Does anyone know how do I replace Start Here page logo? Ok found it, start_here.zip\title_1005.png It fits really well:

...except of a bit messy left and top logo corner.

Btw... I know it's little off topic, but what Microsoft service are you exactly talking about?

Anyway it looks quite good for current icon replacement, isn't it?

You are right; fixed anti-aliasing.

Yes, it rather does.  Here it is packaged as ico and png.

I am using free Microsoft hosting for testing web deployment and hosting the files I posted here.  However, Microsoft is planning to switch over to paid-only hosting by the end of the year.  I looked at Google sites, and although the interface is fine, I do not believe they allow hot-linking.

I archived all the splashes and alternate graphics, and am hosting them on my SkyDrive (see the first post for links).
