Mac Os
« on: May 02, 2011, 08:57:54 am »
Hi,

I've recently acquired a mac. Ive installed the latest version of Codeblocks and the mac OS developers environment (gcc compiler etc).

Now I see this in the download page;

"Code::Blocks for Mac is currently not as stable as are other ports. In other words, we could use an extra Mac developer (or two) to work on Mac compatibility issues. "

Is this a euphemism for "dont use codeblocks on mac" or is it just a case of a few little GUI bugs lingering. I see that at shutdown i get a crash but all my code/projects seem to be saved ok.

In your expert opinion am I safe to continue using CB on mac?

thanks and have a nice day

Graham

There is no problem coding in codeblocks, just don't forget to save your code. As you say it will crash on shut down, and in addition to that when saving configurations and when running some plugins. Avoid the threaded search or whatever its called. I don't know if its more stable if you compile your own but it might be, the last binary is pretty old.
