directory placement -- advice
« on: April 12, 2009, 08:07:07 pm »
Given that I need to organize my files into the categories described below, does anyone have useful advice as to how to configure codeblocks to accomodate the necessary layout?

Category 1: src = input source files (C, cpp, h, etc.)
Category 2: prj = project management (codeblocks workspace, cbp, etc.)
Category 3: tmp = generated files that are not deliverable (obj, lib, etc.) partitioned as necessary
Category 4: out = deliverable files (exe, dll, etc.) partitioned as necessary (debug, release, rc#, etc.)

The desired layout would have four such directories immediately under a root as follows:

    <xyz>/src

    <xyz>/prj

    <xyz>/tmp (or obj)
    <xyz>/tmp/Debug
    <xyz>/tmp/Release

    <xyz>/out
    <xyz>/out/Latin
    <xyz>/out/Greek
    <xyz>/out/Aramaic

Any hints deeply appreciated.

Hi,

you can use the menu 'Project->Project Tree->Edit File Types and categories' to modify the view to your needs.
