What files do I get from a AVR-project?

Hi,
the answer to the question may be easy, but I don't know the sense of these four files:

name.elf
name.elf.hex
name.elf.eep.hex
name.elf.map

The only file I need is the .hex-file right? Can someone explain that to me?
