Many, many improvements, new plugins and features, more stable and major code completion enhancement, the new Code::Blocks release has finally arrived. Get it from the downloads (http://www.codeblocks.org/downloads) section! A changelog (http://www.codeblocks.org/downloads/binaries/changelog) summarises new features and fixes.
We provide binaries for the major platforms supported by Code::Blocks, with more to come in the next time.

OpenSuse packages have been added for:
- OpenSUSE 13.1 : 32 and 64 bit
- OpenSUSE 13.2 : 32 and 64 bit
- OpenSUSE Leap 42 : 64 bit
Additional Windows versions added:
- non-admin setup version
- non-setup, but zipped version

For Windows, the pre-compiled wxWidgets, version 2.8.12 used to compile the release has been uploaded here (http://sourceforge.net/projects/codeblocks/files/Sources/16.01/wxMSW-2.8.12.7z). When opening a Code::Blocks project file it will usually ask you to define the root of the global compiler variable named "wx" which you simply point to the extracted folder from that archive.
Note that wxWidgets comes compiled in a shared, monolithic, release, unicode flavour, compiled like that:
mingw32-make -f makefile.gcc SHARED=1 MONOLITHIC=1 BUILD=release UNICODE=1 VENDOR=cb

Good evening,
thank you to all contributors of this release 16.01 (long awaited),
Best regards.

guys, shouldn't this topic not be part in the announcement section instead of the developer only section ?

It is in the announcements, too. BUT editing I've disabled there on purpose. I'll just keep posting new releases / packages there. This one is dedicated to the further development of C::B and thus, is writable (and a duplicate to some sense).

Ubuntu package has been added
Additional Windows versions added:
- compiler setup version, including GFortran additionally
- non-setup, but zipped version, including the compiler
-
...I've split the topic so that the Mac related discussions have their own thread. Please change your links, if needed.

I haven't posted here in ages, but congratulations on another release. Code::Blocks has always been one of my favorite IDEs.
-
Apologies for cross-posting - I previously posted this in an old nightly thread (the latest one) before finding this thread which I believe is the more appropriate place for it:
For a while now I am seeing this when trying to install from Jens' debian repository (on Sid):
W: gpgv:/var/lib/apt/lists/partial/apt.jenslody.de_testing_dists_stretch_Release.gpg: The repository is insufficiently signed by key 748BC...<rest of key here>(weak digest)
Seems like using a stronger digest will resolve the issue.

Would love to be pulling CB from a repo rather than manually downloading debs. Looking forward to trying the new release.
Thanks!

I am using Code:blocks 16.01 on windows 10. It used to work fine. however recently whenever I go on to open it, a Windows error or warning message shows up and says something like "pkg-config.exe has stopped working..."; then asks for "debug" or "close the programm"....>> I attach the picture of the event i just described. If I click on "close the program", code:blocks opens; other option fails to open it up. It is a bit annoying.
I thought that this was due to MS Visual Studio which I finally removed from my PC but the problem is still here.
I dont know if it is the right place to ask the question but I just need help, Please. See Picture description

You've added `pkg-config ....` somewhere in your global compiler options and the pkg-config.exe has stopped working on your system.
