Title: Running CB on a 64 bit windows 7 machine with Intel core i5
Post by: jeremiahwuzza on July 11, 2015, 02:45:05 pm
Hi all
Well actually code blocks is working well and I am very impressed with the sensible layout and versatile capabilities.
My question is about optimization (using mingw 4.7.1 with gcc, gdb and g++):
None of the optimizations in the compiler flags xml seem to exactly match this engine. In fact many of them are for much older (15 years) chips. Which (if any) of the optimizations are suitable for this chipset?
And can I edit the XML to remove 'dead wood'?
This all started when I discovered my compiler flags options had vanished, but after a bit of fiddling I found you can delete the xml in your user directory and another one is then generated from the codeblocks directory in Program files (x86).

Any help would be appreciated

Cheers

Jeremy

Did you try to right-click on a compiler-flag as mentioned below the flags ?
If your version of C::B does not have the capability, you should use a nightly build.
