Title: eporting to Makefile
Post by: philippe.quesnel on March 05, 2006, 11:51:49 pm
hmmm, I thought I remembered reading somewhere that (nightly builds ver of) C::B now had possibility to create a Makefile from a project ?
this would be very usefull in certain circumstances.

I can't find this anywhere,
is it available or did I dream this ? ;-)

thx
Philippe

There used to be a Makefile project exporter, which is now removed. It will be re-added at some point but can't say when...

Why was this option removed? Is the code for it still in the source? Are there still plans to re-add it?

It was removed because the whole underlying subsystem has changed. Yes, it is still in there but wouldn't even compile now.

But will it be re-activated? It seems to me like a very good thing to have!!!

Check 4 posts above: yes, it will be re-activated but only when we move to the new build system (which is not going to happen before 1.0 is out).

There's nothing stopping you from making a "makefile-exporter-plugin" right now though ;).
